Software assessment against EN50128



Assessment of a new train vigilance system software development aginst the CENELEC Standard EN50128:2011.  The vigilance unit had been allocated safety functions to it with Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2). Control logic was embedded within a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The configuration of the device had to comply with EN50128:2011 which covers configuration of data for safety applications. The rolling stock is has now been successfully commissioned and is carrying passengers in Australia.

Assessment of a the software for Driver Controlled Operation (DCO) and Automatic Selective Door Operation  (ASDO) system software development against the CENELEC Standard EN50657The the DCO and ASDO had been allocated safety functions to it with Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL2). The configuration of the software device had to comply with EN50657 which covers configuration of data for safety applications.

Digital Rail partnered with CRITICAL Software to conduct the independence safety assessment of the vehicles, track system and interfaces of the Shanghai Metro Line 8 Phase III Automated People Mover.

These vehicles will provide safe transportation in airports and dense urban areas all around the world. They are fully automated, able to cope with the bands of transporting millions of passengers each year.

Our assessment covered project plans, specifications, design tests and supplied products, as well as installation, commissioning and operations of the vehicles, the infrastructure and interfaces communication with other systems.
